There are parking facilities. It should also be noted, that there is no slip facility for launching and that boats will have to be lifted into water - it is therefore only suitable for small inflatables or similar that can be easily lifted in and out. We suggest that people should wear weather shoes/runners as feet will get wet.

If you're interested in joining us on other small-boat rallies on our canals and rivers, please register your interest with us.

Cruise from Grand Canal Docks/Poolbeg to Islandbridge

See our River Liffey Notes (intended to assist Dublin Rally participants)

"Big boats" MUST be on the Liffey and at Butt Bridge before 9am in order to beat the tide up the Liffey - we got caught out last year waiting in the lock for stragglers.  High tide is 11:05am.  Drops into the Liffey start at 07:00 on Saturday morning.

Those participating in the small boat rally have a larger "window" and will launch from the Grand Canal Dock.  Due to tidal conditions, the taller boats will have priority in the locks for the early drops.  Remember Time and tide wait for no man - please be on time.

Note that the slip at Poolbeg YC can not be used to launch small boats on Saturday morning due to tidal conditions.

Small boats wishing to return to the Grand Canal Dock must lock up at 14:30 (again tidal conditions - there's a sand bar across the entrance to the docks).

The large boats will overnight at Poolbeg Yacht & Boat Club.

The cruise will be followed by a BBQ at 6.30pm at Poolbeg Yacht & Boat Club
